The good+ The friendships between the four main characters+ The complete trust between them+ How there is no hesitation at all that Erya must be saved and they'll do anything to achieve that+ All four of them being their own person。 Sure， they're slightly cliché sometimes （Rayne is the typical scholarly dude， Eno is the typical bodyguard and Drayce is the typical carefree "kid"）， but they're very different from each other and have their own personalities+ The sweet relationship between Rayne and The good+ The friendships between the four main characters+ The complete trust between them+ How there is no hesitation at all that Erya must be saved and they'll do anything to achieve that+ All four of them being their own person。 Sure， they're slightly cliché sometimes （Rayne is the typical scholarly dude， Eno is the typical bodyguard and Drayce is the typical carefree "kid"）， but they're very different from each other and have their own personalities+ The sweet relationship between Rayne and Eno+ Rayne and Eno stating clearly what they want from the other+ Eno showing no hesitation whatsoever when being with a man for the first time+ The situation with Rayne's ex not causing a rift （either due to jealousy or miscommunication） between Rayne and Eno+ The "issue" of Rayne's ex chasing him or waiting for him wasn't solved by the author by making said ex evil or some other easy solution。 I liked that he seems to be on Caelan's side and wasn't tossed aside when it could have been convenient to do so+ The queen being dead set against a political or arranged marriage for Caelan。 I hope he realizes being with Drayce would not be a disappointment or disgrace+ （view spoiler）[Caelan vouching for Shey and insisting he gets access to the power Caelan thinks he deserves， even when the gods apparently don't agree （hide spoiler）]+ The coverThe neutralo I didn't really feel the romantic connection between Caelan and Drayce yet。 I know they're best friends， and I did feel that part， but their romantic attraction was not as clear as for the other pairingo Caelan's team didn't trust （view spoiler）[those two people from their own army （hide spoiler）] fully， because they're really unsure who to trust， even when they've worked together for years and years already。 However， they did trust （view spoiler）[Shey （hide spoiler）] immediately， even though he's from another country and his allegiance is definitely more questionable。 But I trust Rayne's and Caelan's instincts， so I'm sure it's alrightThe bad- I did not like Rayne's initial reaction upon meeting his ex。 （view spoiler）[He gets all kinds of warm feelings of attraction， and only several chapters later does he figure out his attraction turned into platonic affection。 His initial reaction seemed dishonest to Eno， and when he stated he hadn't felt this safe since last being with Shey I really felt awful。 Doesn't Eno make him feel that way？ （hide spoiler）]I am so glad the second book is coming out so soon， I can't wait！ I hope it picks up right where this book ended。 Would definitely recommend。 。。。more

I’m blown away…。 This brand new fantasy series is going to be epic since the first book was amazing，I loved it hard！！ I automatically loved all the main characters， especially Prince Caelan。 He was a sweetheart，Drayce was humorous， Rayne was the sensible one and Eno was the serious grumpy one。 Oh， I laughed， cried， my heart broke and my heart was beating fast up in my throat a few times with the suspense， holy cow！ Suspense and steamy with a dang cliffhanger， I need book two now… ;） A Must Read！

Steal the Wind by Jocelynn Drake is the first book in the Godstone Saga。 This series has been tagged as a fantasy and it has all of its trademark。The author did a wonderful job of laying out the basic plot for the entire series while creating lots of mysteries that needs to be answered as well。 The story for the first book is exciting， the pacing is great and the intrigue and politics quite fascinating。 The world and lore created is pretty interesting and it gives the reader a feeling of how hug Steal the Wind by Jocelynn Drake is the first book in the Godstone Saga。 This series has been tagged as a fantasy and it has all of its trademark。The author did a wonderful job of laying out the basic plot for the entire series while creating lots of mysteries that needs to be answered as well。 The story for the first book is exciting， the pacing is great and the intrigue and politics quite fascinating。 The world and lore created is pretty interesting and it gives the reader a feeling of how huge and epic the story is。 The world-building so far have been on point and I can't wait to know more about the crystals， the various kingdoms and the history of each place。 The varying points of view gives the reader a better perspective on the characters' thoughts and motives and it helps give depth and layer to each of them。 The dynamics between Rayne， Eno， Drayce， and Caelan is fun to read， their dialogues are witty and interactions overall is what one would expect from a group of friends though with their positions adding a bit of spice in the mix。 However ， I can't helped but be reminded of the Final Fantasy 15 gang of Noctis， Prompto， Gladio and Ignis as the four leads in this book is so similar in character and dynamics overall。A prince now orphaned and is a king without a kingdom？ Check。A well-built bodyguard/soldier assigned personally to the prince？ CheckA man who is the strategist/smart one in the group？ CheckA carefree childhood friend？ Check。The way that Caelan was sent out to go into a friendly kingdom before his mother got killed before the attack on their city reminds me of what happened in Kingsglaive。 In fact a lot of the lore sort of reminds me of Final Fantasy things like how the Godstones reminds me of the crystals in FF。 Even Prince Shey reminded me of Seifer a Final Fantasy 8 character。Anyway， one aspect of the book that did not really work out for me is the romance。 It's not the author's fault more of a personal preference。 The budding romance between Eno and Rayne was done quite well though it just didn't do it for me。 The hint of romance between Cael and Drayce is just not it for me。 The writer has portrayed them as having strong feelings for each other and did a nice job of actually showing that to the reader but I just felt indifferent to it and see it more as just a crush nothing more。 If my continued interest would be based on the romantic relationships right now then it would be zero。 It might change in the future but for now it's just a no for me。Overall， Steal the Wind is a great start to a new series。 It is more than its romantic relationships。 It's a book with an engaging story and plot， endearing characters and a huge world one can get lost in。 This book would be a 4。25 stars out of 5 stars for me。I received an ARC of this book via GRR and I have chosen to publish my fair and honest review。 。。。more
